Butt Creek, 4300 ft., S.M.S Chester, Plumas Co. Cal.
Aug-19 Found these common in creek-bottom meadow with burrows in & under logs,
under rocks & in creek bank. Saw 8 or 10
in 50 x0. sq. meadow. Took 2-hare on Aug.
Aug-20 Saw large one 100 yds from meadow
in woods running from log to log
& bush to bush, raising under every
piece of cover. This was about 10 am.
This sp. not seen Sept. 3 to Sept. 5, 1957
when Dr. Benson & I passed the same
location. Perhaps hibernating about late
end of August. Animals has moderate amt
of fat.

+11 Fairly common in this more open
Ground in area. Citellus ledorus seems
to stay more in wooded areas as did also
Cytomys sp.?
