A.C ZIBBEE 1959 JOURNAL Butt Creek, 4300'ft., 8 mi. S Chester, Plumas Co, Calif. Aug.20 HAS RAIN AT 6 AM - STopped at 7 AM : Got only a P. maniculatus + a C. lateralis in years. Picked up years, dried out gear + left for home at 11:30 AM. Arrived about 7 PM. 7 mi. S., 4 mi. E Base, 6500'ft. Mono Co, California. Aug.24 PUT UP 3 M. californicus taken by Dr. W.B.Quinn of U.C. Zoo. Dead. Discovered Animals slipping slightly. - no fat. off Fremont Islands, San Francisco Co, California. August Area's for MV2 a 3'-ft. embryo + also a block of 10 baleen plates which were obtained by Edwin E. Rosenberg at Gerringer Fishing Co., in Richmond. See Scales Account of Balaenoptera bosyminis. Sept 4 Ed Brot in parts of an 11'ft Merriadea Noumeangula embryo. Both sides of baleen, both pelvic bones, a teeth (to Dr. Hoickel) + The entire left forelimb. Mother was 42' t.h. Wide parts of baleen strips are towards rear of mouth. Ed said the young are born at about 14 ft. So this is a fairly large one. Will see if W.R. Rosen can prepare the flipper, arm bones + scapula as an articulated unit.
