Lake Aug. 18 (Camp) Camp 2 or 3 more C. lateralis during PM., 3 Boys about 11 or 12 years old have been browsing in Range 4 Hills than the day - also a Thomasius - They requested the Herps be given to Muz in their names: Dennis & Gary Boitman, of 5845 Eno Drive, North Highlands, California (near Chico) And Richard L. Cochran, of #6 Cono Via, Danville, California. (near Walnut Creek) Shot at Bats at dusk - had one good high shot & a poorer lower one but missed both. Fairly chilly this evening & clouding up. Bats flying at about 8:30 PM. Saw 4 at once off in distance. All except 2 bats went at almost tree-top height. Deer passed thru camp at 10:30 PM. Many fresh droppings about camp. Aug. 19 Had only 2 or 3 P. maniculatus, a Micrurus & a Gumatias [illegible] in grass. Found C. tenerus [illegible] in meadow south from camp. Shot one & trapped another. Walked down logging road & shot 2 Sciurops douglasii, 1 Eutamias townsendii & a or C. lateralis. Heard Pleuratos, saw Gumatias sp.?40 ft. up in pine. Boys brought in more frogs. Had no time to shoot bats in PM. . Sawgo all deer along logging road,
