A.C. Zieber 1959 JOURNAL Hunter Creek Campground, 3550 ft., 1 mi. W Bunch, Shasta Co. Calif. Aug. 16 Surveyors two or three near camp says T35N, R1E 9 chains east to See 22. Hiked along logging roads & river near camp in AM Got a Coluger(?) & a Greenhornes Saw A few Squirrel Douglas & 102 2 chipmunks Heard Pilgeros near camp, also fiddlers downy, venice & Red-ba's Nutcrackers. No decent places to yard - too many lins & fisherman around camp & stream. Aug. 17 Packed & left at 9 AM for Butt Creek via Larsen Natl Park. Hit much construction work on way, arrived at Butt Creek about 3:15 PM. Butt Creek, 4300 ft., 8 mi. S Crescent, Plumas Co. Calif. Aug. 17 Collected smark frogs while setting out traps along stream & in marshy spots. Saw & lost 2 moose. Good bat flight at dusk but many staying very high. Shot 1 small Myotis in orch. Set gorher & rat yards at 10 PM. Aug. 18 Got 3 Sogev, 4 Micropus, 3 Aescyscus maniculatus in yards. In AM got 5 C.terelus lateralis in Rat yards. They are very common here. At one o'clock had a Song Sparrow, a C. lateralis & a Micropus in mouse yards. Thanked at 3:30 PM.
