A.C. ZIEGLER 1959 JOURNAL 7 mi. S, 4 mi. E BOGE, 6500+FT, MONO CO, CALIFORNIA JUNE 30 (CONT'D) Drove thru day & arriving at Mono Lake about 5:00 PM. Drove thru Leevining now US 395 and cut NE on state (Nev.-Calif.) Hiway 31. Stopped 13.2 mi. (by speedometer) from the Jct. of 395 & 31. And set 16 small Shermans + 3 rat traps in sandy area with foot-high bushes approx 5-10 ft apart. Photo taken looking S over trapping area. JULY 1 Got only 5 Peromyscus maniculatus in Shermans & a D. [illegible] & a D. [illegible] in rat traps. But Dr. Q & Dennis got 8 Microdipos, also a few more Dipos + Peromyscus Flat beside Leevining Creek, 7100+FT, about 2 mi. S, 2 mi. W Leevining Mono Co, California JUNE 30 Set 16 small Shermans and 3 rat traps in sandy area with 1-2 ft. high thick sage bushes about 5-8 ft. apart. Set traps well under bushes in hopes of getting Laboulus. A fisherman here said temp. had been 28F the morning before. JULY 1 Got 4 or 5 Peromyscus maniculatus and 3 Peromyscus aurivus (1 was young) Dennis got Peromyscus & Dr. Q. got Peromyscus + 2 Eutamias in his large Shermans.
