A.C. Fletcher 1957 Journal Powell Flats, 3000 ft., 12 mi. NW Happy Camp, Siskiyou Co., Ca. Aug 30 Just below our camp. So much space's in windows (cont.) & seats in flat had only 1 Microtus & a (Canadensis?) Warbler. Taricha Berries at 8:00 am in pool in Flat. - Adjoning Pool had thin skin of Ice. Much frost - some xtals 1/4 inch long on grass. Dr. B. got a Sciurus Douglasi in Schuyler but it was got way gotten from head back by Goshawk yells am. Injured 7 Microtus on Dr. B. & myself with me 1:19 (amphibian oneams) Posmann to get to skin them large, - maybe this will take place at outing. Left at about 1:45 PM. Saw Deer on road to Happy Camp. Drove to Yreka arriving at 6:15 PM & ate supper there, saw several Cougars around courriers Deer & more Drive on road to Yreka Also a dead Black Cat & a [illegible]. Arrived in Fowler Camp, 6 mi. (by Aero) E of Mt. Cloud, Siskiyou Co., California. 7 Acnic tables, cold water taps & [illegible] lanterns. About 10 teams' parked here but we found 1 empty space with Picnic table. Saw only Camping limits to 15 days. Will not hear here tonight. Aug 31 Left at 8:30 am, & drove to vicinity of Montezuma Creek where found out [illegible] of Ceresby's Ranch.
