Powee Flat, 5000 ft., 12 mi. NW Harry Camp, Siskiyou Co. Calif.
Aug. 26 (cont.)
Another small swift stream crossing the
Kenny Hole Road just a quarter mile from
camp site. No trapping but picnic passed.
Set 50 mus. Spee's along stream below
camp in trees, under small overhanging
banks & under logs there. Set 24 live
traps hanging down shade & among
the "drinking water" stream chose to
where it enters the Powee flat stream
also 6 rat traps among stream
banks at logs & in washes. Also set
mus. Spee's & rat traps.
50 mus in circles out into meadow grass
& thru willows near our camp, better
trapping seen in meadow & on
bark of rosebud shade, so set 10 mouse
traps in 5 sets near our camp. Some
other camps drove in at Jack & took
appearance the only other camping spot
on this flat. Dr. Benson continued a
doshawk flying & saying for some
bird or something else.
Distances near the woods. He looking for
bats flying due meadow at our side now.
