A.C. Zigmond 1957 Journal Powee Flat, 5000 ft., 12 mi. NW Harry Camp, Siskiyou Co. Calif. Aug. 26 (cont.) Another small swift stream crossing the Kenny Hole Road just a quarter mile from camp site. No trapping but picnic passed. Set 50 mus. Spee's along stream below camp in trees, under small overhanging banks & under logs there. Set 24 live traps hanging down shade & among the "drinking water" stream chose to where it enters the Powee flat stream also 6 rat traps among stream banks at logs & in washes. Also set mus. Spee's & rat traps. 50 mus in circles out into meadow grass & thru willows near our camp, better trapping seen in meadow & on bark of rosebud shade, so set 10 mouse traps in 5 sets near our camp. Some other camps drove in at Jack & took appearance the only other camping spot on this flat. Dr. Benson continued a doshawk flying & saying for some bird or something else. Distances near the woods. He looking for bats flying due meadow at our side now. Location is shown on U.S.D.A. Forest Service map, Harry Camp District, Klamath Natl. Forest 1955..
