A.C. Ziegler 1958 Vulpes macrotis 7 mi. E (by road) Mocciey Hot Springs, Fresno Co, Calif. Jan 30 SAW 2 or 3 of this species + 2 or 3 Grey Foxes plus 1 Lynx hung on fence along road. Trapped it clubbed over head. Saved the passenger kit fox for specimen. Skins of lynx + fox or 2 already taken previous by other MVZ collectors Lewin x Manos. Saw some very small fleas noticed jumping off of skin on nits of Jan 31 when I was skinning it. There might have been from recently hatched coots since it seems unusual that fleas on animal when it was trapped would still remain on skin for several days.
