A.C. Etcetera 1958 MUS MUSCULUS Brooks Island, 50' ft, Coniza Cosna Co., Can F. Jan 18 Took 19 in 40 mus. Snee + 3 rat years, see journal for times + 2 other years results. Lifted up board at 10' ft. + 3 mus ran out. Population can seem good & common. Seem to be more mus on NE tip of island in tank wetish grass than just 100 yards away around on the swight way. Under NW tip whergrass was not quite so thick + where much Brechris grew almost all of [illegible] years on NE side except 2 had mus - less than half or less than one third on NW side had mice + 3 were sprung with nothing in them. Traps set roughly 1/2 on NE, 1/2 on NW side - maybe difference in catch just trapping luck since two areas [illegible] seem too close together to be much different. Put up 2 , saved half a doz others as records with no #'s. Discarded rest. Rats only other [illegible] seen on island as far as we could tell. Sparrow hawk also seen + 1 hawk or owl perch found had mus remains.
