A.C. ZICHER 1958 Reptiles, Amphibians Jan 31 12 mi. SE (by road) POCHINE, San Benito Co., Calif. 2 in snags, 2 in live oaks on gravelly soil among Arceuthobium & other bushes. Dr. Riley took 1 also. Dipo. neocanini, Peromyscus maniculatus, Trogons borbore & Neotoma leucodon taken in same area. Mar 21 Steamboat Canyon, Berkeley Mtns., San Benito Co., Calif. Took 3 in live oaks in Microlus pax on tank grass & 2 in oak woods on Mus. site along with Peromyscus canifericus. Both places just to N side of U.S. Botanic Garden fence. June 10 1 in live near last ridge on rocky ridges + bird seed. Not saucos. Also caught 2 Microlus californicus & 2 Sorbus Olearias. July 4 1 mi. W Bolinas P.O., 120 ft, Marin Co., California 1 in near in wood just on edge of grass of Quercus agrifolia dry hillside. Very small (sub-adult?) animal. See chart in June 22 notes this journal. Sept 14 4 mi. ENE Navarro, 220 ft, Pescadero Co., Calif. One adult & 1 immature taken on sandy gravelly ground with sedge shrub & little grass cover. Other mammals in vicinity were Dipodomys, Perom. maniculatus, Pteropus, foxes (Odocoileus virginianus).
