A.L. ZICOZZE 1958 Rebobartus gannay 1/4 mi N, 1/3 mi E Aguanas, 2300 ft. August 6th, Oaxaca Sept. 14 Took apart 130 of this species in 3 locations around Aguanas last night this am. By far the most common mouse here. Started catching them when it was barely dawn. Many had knees, quick white-booted mice on them, got some into Asen Entomology dept but they were nothing unusual apparently. Most of the Rebobartus seemed adult size. Roughly 1/4 to 1/3 had lost a noticeable amount of end of tail. We discarded most of these "short-tailed" animals so the specimens put up do not give an accurate picture of variation in tail length in this park area. Burrows infreground about 12in. in dia were notice on about every square yard or so of ground about camp. And two few burrows and little-were seen on the vegetatraveled path near running than trapping near camp. These mice were [illegible] except for,; The 2 other trapping locations (4 mi. ENE Aguanas, 2050 ft. and 1mi SE Aguanas, 2000ft.) where the ground tended to be of looser sand and/or less covered with the desert vegetation. Other mammals taken while the crew were thickest were Dipomys gannay, Ovis spalis and 1 Onychornis. Also 1 Pseudo, maniculares + 1 Pseum creonicus, Seso of Animal (?) found in creek bushes or once.
