A. E. ZIEGLER 1958 JOUENAN 3mi N MONZANITA, 3600'ft, McCan Valley San Diego Co. California. Scat. 12 +13 Drove here in PM & camped about 5:PM. Shot Oats at dusk + got 1 Myotis subalatus. Saw only 2 orice small Oats. Set out 40' mus spcec's + 5 rat traps on sandy slope with Oak shrubs, Monzanita, & some Chumpy composites. A few bare spots between shrubs + some small open grass cover. Also set 10 meacces in 5 sets near camp. Also set 25 mus. spec's + 3 rat traps in horse pasture with only sparse grass in it. Locality is shown on Corps of Eng's Topo. Campo Mesa, Edition of 1944, Photo taken of Oak, Monzanita, etc. slope looking SW. Also photo looking N, at horse pasture where 25 mus + 3 rat traps were placed. In traps on Monzanita shale got 2 Oso Agilis, Onychurus, etc but in horse- pasture got only Beamy maniculatus along-fence row with wind-blown flower stems or small bushes.
