Photo taken of area looking NW on Sept 9, 1958. Got 5 promontus formosus only but other boys got Dipro. meeeami. +P.ANIGULLATUS BEEFIES. Did not find colonies growing in year. I found colony crawling along beach last PM about 9 or 10 o'clock. Also set traps at following two locations: 4 1/3 mi. N, 3 mi. W, 4 mi. N, 2 1/2 mi. W Truckhaven Kang Springs, Imperial Co., California. Sept 9 (cont'd) HO mus excels x 3 rat years got only two promontus longimanus x an unidentified tank. 2 or 3 other traps sprung. Dr. L. got away a P. maniculatus here. 4 mi. N, 3 1/2 mi. W Truckhaven, 21 mi. NW Kang Springs, Imperial Co., California. Sept 9 (cont.) This location is junction of Smith Road we camped on 4 th inst. 20 mus spees got only a promontus carinatus. Dr. L. got 3 promontus [illegible] (locations and measured on auto roads) saw a large bat at early twilight but none later. Moon about 1/4 full.
