Mar 2 Went to Rio Rock & Brooks with Max Moe,
Paul Anderson of MVZ & Max Moe, Joel Smith
of AMNH. Last found post of turtle
plastron on Rio Rock Beach - given to Dick
Beaman of our Herb. Dept. for identification.
Also found fish vertebrae & 2 Driftwood Sxaxes.
On Brooks the Smiths found a people on top
of ground
off extreme point at NE end of Island - same
spot that yielded a skeleton to me last
Fri P. Paul Anderson found a partial Skeleton
at spot where Paul had seen a few ribs
exposed a week or so ago. I dug it out
& marked my # 1027, Paul found a
quartz xtra (chipped on an edge?) on
beach at spot where he had found
skeleton with other artifacts a few
weeks ago. I found a (waste?) obsidian
fragment with chips taken out of it
on the beach at N end of same mound
where the skeletons were found.
Fish vert. from Rio Rock was fairly fresh &
was identified as Striped Bass (Roccus saxat-
ilis) fam. Scraeniche. Al Jones at Zoo Div.
took it over to Calif. Acad. of Sci. in S.F.
to have it identified. In mound at Brooks
Got (old) "tooth(?)" plate with mass of corn-
cobner - like teeth set on it. Identified
