A.C.Bicour 1957 Microtus longicaudus Butt Creek Pass Cheese, Plumas Co, Calif. 4300ft. Sept. 3-5 Seven taken in wet meadow with 1 to 2½ ft. high sage + live + service-cut willow bushes. 2 M. montanus also taken in meadow apparently in drier spots but maybe not sure montanus kept to this drier ground, M. montanus from this locn. is browner on back with a shorter tail which compare to longicaudus from here. Neither species taken on drier hill slopes bordering meadow. Young + adults of longicaudus — the more common species — taken within meadow.
