Peromyscus maniculatus
Aug 21
Back Shanty Camp T. 12N, R. 7E, Sec. 13, Siskiyou Co., Calif.
Caught 4 between 8 and 10:30 pm in wet grass & underbrush along very small stream. All in "adult" pelage.
Aug 22
Caught 3 in Sherman live traps on dry hillside with dark fir & some 3 ft. high underbrush during night, only I showed remains of grey "juvenile" pelage. Dr. Benson took 1 along small stream. 1 in half-juvenile pelage in swab traps in wet gulley between 7:30 and 10:30 pm. 1 in live traps during same period.

Eul Valley Guard Sta., T. 14N, R. 4E, Sec. 23, Klamath Co., Calif.
Many caught in all types of habitable here. Dr. Benson caught 1 which he thought was a juvenile Boylei or maniculatus. 2 maniculatus were caught between 8:00 and 10 am mice. In my live trapping a young animal entered the same trap 3 times during the first half of the night even after being thrown out of the traps twice.

Int. 4-mile Creek & Cleve Creek, T. 15N, R. 6E, Sec. 2, Siskiyou Co., Calif.
3 were only mammals caught in 50 mls specs set along creek on various edge, on rocks and along very dry, but still mossy, banks. Dr. Benson on higher drier ground away from creek caught P. boylii & P. newby among with this
