Aug 22 Back Swanry Camp, 3700 ft., T. 12 N, R. 5 E, Sec. 13, Siskiyou Co., Calif.
Caught 1 in trap near with apricot set on open ground between 2 Douglas Pines 15 ft. apart. At about 2 or 2:30 PM. Saw no doves in camp but Dr. Benson shot at a couple of doves on fire road thru the forest.
Dr Benson shot 1 near camp this P.M.
Aug 25 Emi Valley Guard Sta., T. 14 N, R. 4 E, Sec. 23, De Norte Co., Calif.
Saw none in camp but 1 hawk doves and 3+ miles out of camp as we were enroute to 4-mile Creek.
Aug 27-30 Podocactus, 5000 ft., 12 mi. NW Happy Camp, Siskiyou Co., Calif.
Dr Benson got 2 or 3 hoot - one eaten in trap by Goshawk. 2 or 3 other squirrels seen around camp in contests.
