Aug. 27 I in Sheeman live trap at night set under
willows overhanging the rocky shore of a swift stream. Meadow sunnowed saw where
caught. Traps for [illegible] (both mus. Spce & more
live traps) set along stream bed on rocks &
under overhanging banks did not take them
in 8 nights trapping. Dr. Benson took 3 in
grassless spots than mine along stream.
Animals were dead in traps - think microquitters
wet - got dry.
But Creek, 4300ft., & mi. S Chester, Plumas Co., Calif.
Sept. 4 I in mus. Spce. Set beside store at
spot where side branch of main creek
flows over a thru old beaver dam. Trap
set on mossy branch with water trickling
on both sides. Only 1 taken during stay
here. Sacok vagrals, Neomyscuis, Microtus sap.
& Peromyscus taken nearby.
