A.C. ZICHER 1957 JOURNAL W End Valley, 10°-10.5° F., Marin Co., Calif. Oct.28 Got here late in afternoon Dec.27. Set out 125 traps in 3 locations all in bunch gras clumps and a few in pns ova out of band side beside stream. Ran them at 8:00am today + got 8 Sorey [illegible] 7or 8 Peromyscus maniculatus, 1 Mus, 5or 6 Pertrres + 5or 6 Micratus. Nor too many traps droobed but many spana with nothing in them. Light rain from 2 or 3 am starting about 8:00am + beginning at 1:00pm again. Foggy + overcast but not too cold. Micratus, Rothro's + Peromyscus seem a little more scarce than last week. Sorey more abundant. All specimens wet so only 3 [illegible] set as dry skins. Saw 2 deer + 1 jackrabbit last nite. Set out 75 more Mus. space between 10:am + noon in two more locations - 1 below the dam + other up the stream + canyon N of Martins house. Had quick lunch + ran Am traps between 4pm - made 2 sets of 4 maresbee grave traps in cow pastures near lake. Also set 2 rat traps in windows beside sleeping baited with mouse body. Hung a dead Song Sparrow caught. N [illegible] Mus. See above
