A.C. Becker 1957 Journal Nov. 16 Lab animal from Diablo Animal Lab, Berkeley, Alameda Co., Ca. Put up 1 Rattus novacivus (long-eared sperm) to show Dr. A.W. Coleman at San Fran- cisco the procedure. He then put up one (no #) and gave it to me. Dr. Coleman had bought 4 rats (at $1.90 each!) to learn the technique. He left the other two with me to use 'til he can come over again & practice. All animals were adult males. Dec 18 Lab animal from U.C. L.S.B. Rat Lab, Berkeley, Alameda Co., Ca. Turned in the above 2 live rats to lab on 5th floor, L.S.B. Awes for so. They gave me two Yersbyrat in return. Dr Coleman skinned 1 (#3 R.C.) & I killed & froze the other for future work by Dr. Coleman. The stuffed rats were given to me for any use. Dec. 21 Went Eld Valley, 10° to 75½ft., Marin Co., California. Dec. 22 Drove out road called Town Van. Rd. Past several "Absolutely No Trespassing" signs + gates to a locked gate about 1 to 1½ miles up the valley from the ocean. People living along road said it was a country road & other residents had no right to put up trespass signs. At locked gate, however, got key from
