A L Zeebee 1957 JUVENAH June 22 & 23 4 mi N, 4 mi E Huntington, Emery Co. Utah Driving across Utah noticed 2 or 3 Prairie dogs in fields & possibly 2 more dead on road. As you drive along P-10 ft in dia. Cleared spots are seen in grass with a foot-high conical mound in the center & about 1/2 ft. in dia. Those are apparently ant hills since no large openings are visible in them & all particles are about buckshot or B-B pellets size. Small chest are blooming bright maroon color. Stopped & drove off hwy 50 x 6 5 1/2 mi. NE (Bt road) of Huntington & set 67 mus spec's & 6 rat years at 8:30 am along a dry wash (see 1 photo) & thru fields with some spiny grey-green shrub about 1 ft. high, leaves about mouse-ear size. Ground dusty but fairly hard with rocks & gravel in many places. Saw no very fresh holes out did see a few old holes 1 1/2-2 in in dia. with corners in them. Dino?? Ran trees about 9:00 pm. Got 3 adult Peromyscus (I got them with Bailey's skin of the girls to Dr. Ruby). The guys saw several fast-flying small bats & a few larger slow flying ones at dusk - they took a few shots but got none. None flying at 4:00 am June 23. Ran trees at 5:00 am, got about 190 more Peromyscus all looking alike. 4 or 5 young ones (only 1 young one sawed) put up 2 brown bats from last
