Feb 12 Wildcat Canyon, Central Costa Co., Calif.
10:00 AM - 1 Hawk soaring in clouds without not too many wing beats. May have been ascending but hard to judge height from ground. Perching on "high wire" power line tower. Took one short flight off of tower then went back to perch. Tower overlooking open slope with only few bushes.
10:30 AM - 1 more Hawk (1st one still perching on tower) seen circling with few strokes of wings apparently gaining altitude. After rising for a time, smiling or soaring only using in spiralling upwards, still over approx same spot as where seen first. No call.
Feb 13 U.C. Botanical Gardens, Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif.
