Down from surface of mound.
"FRESH" sand & grass grew on top
of mound & about 6" down old
bleached sand, rocks & shells
appeared & continued down for
roughly another foot or a little
more, then just clean yellow
sand on down under that.
However at front edge (bay facing
side) of mound (which was about
15 ft hi vertically & sloped at
about 60) half way up more
blue/green sand appeared &
upon digging into this I found
more shells, clamshells, stones etc.
& the mortar piceet scraper.
So apparently mound had two
terraces in use. In cross section
(white area = clean sand.)
Will try to have Dr Love Miller
tell me something about the
bones. Also picked up 2 teeth
from front or
jaw bone from top of mound -
maybe some deer or deer. Sheeps
or goats.
Birds (for both locations)
1 Red billed gull - 2
Ring bled gull - 5
Spotted hawk = 10+ (booster)
Plover = 200-300 (Booster) are hunting them!!
