A.C. Ziegler 1956 Journal Nov 4 (cont) 2 mi. W Barden Station, 500 ft, San Mateo Co., Calif. with chumps of JUNCUS (?), ground in those chumps only damp tho not marshy. Set 50 mus traps in mile(?) runs among clumps and on edge of field along road shoulder (a bank with briars mtn) in center of most clumps ground was firmly hard & couldn't find underground runs - so traps just set in occasional open spaces in centers of clumps. Set out traps at 4:00 PM (Nov.3) & ran them at 6:00 PM & 9:00 PM as well as 6:30 AM Nov 4. 6:00 PM { 3 REITHRO'S 1 PEROMYSCUS MANICULATUS 4 MICROTUS OREITAPHENICUS 9:00 PM { 2 REITHRO'S 3 MICROTUS (also one recently-preoged song & parson - Relish) 6:30 AM { 10 REITHRO'S 1 PEROMYSCUS MANICULATUS (or caught to trap?) 5 MICROTUS Most of Reithro's caught by traps. This location is .9 mi. N of Sharp Park Cutoff Road on Skyline Blvd. (right side of Skyline when heading N.) Chinese Cemetery is a mile or so further down this small road.
