Band 10' thru between field &
Baecharis. Baecharis leo on up
slope for 100 yds to conifers &
eucalyptus on top of hill.)
Ran traps at 8:am - got
2 Peromyscus californicus, 5 Pero-
myscus truei along fence.
1 Perognathus californicus beside
Baecharis bush near bot. gardens
parking lot (dry hillsides with
a few Artemesia bushes, 2 young
Peromyscus truei and 2 Reithro-
dontomys along Artemesia row
beside thistle field. Several
other traps in both places
sprung with hair & blood in
them, 1 Peromyscus truei caught
by tail on tree limb 5' off
of ground had cut string &
orbored trap 15' before
becoming stuck in bushes - dead
when found, ants cut off patch
of hair on many specimens.
Baited with instant oatmeal
& bird seed mixed (chewco
& put on treebolts). One trap
that hold a REITHRO - had
the string cut of right near
the rod flag (2' up in box) &
the flag had a few holes gnawed
in it. Mice for 200, 135 class.
