Journal Juncz 903 6th Court Albany Calif. (Cont) Slightly tilted. Droplets were seen on rear claws almost 1700 from long axis of lizard. The lizard was pictured being held at time of spotting as I said so these two L's might cover slightly more of an arc than if it had been sitting still on sand, I do not remember if the head was pointing downward or not when the blood started. After the initial spurt, tho at least 6 or 7 large drops of blood come out of each cye & soaked into sand. The lizard arched yb back, francised out, waggled its tail a few times then held it + head arched upward just as a typical defense reaction. The breathing was stopped. The body + limbs twitching frequently & the tongue was slowly protruded & caught by the tightly closed mouth. These eyes were open for the 1st 1/2 minute or so then closed decidedly. The usual army white color of body appeared quite yellow (not this region growing yellow) and quite noticeable different compared from Johnson who noticed by my wife who just came here.
