A.C. ZIEGLER 1956 JOURNAL JUNE 10 (cont.) Carran Hollow, Amador & San Joaquin Cos., Calif. Cagenifer. Many Citenmus (becheri) + Burrows in hollow. Herps seen: Bufo beccari - hundreds of 3/4 inch-long young in "sheep tank" (1.5 mi. E of county line). 2 Rana's Scapiorus Hammondii - 2 large TADs with legs in Cottonwood wood stream near ranger station. Hyla regilla - could 10 small + 1 large in same cottonwood stream. Rana Catesbiana - 3 or 4 Large TADS or "tailed" frogs could in sheep tank. Buophis cagenifer - 1 IN hollow & one for + 3 more day. Toward Livermore (out of canyon.) Lamaeplius gutulus - 1 Dae in hollow - freshly killed. Mammals - Vrocton & [illegible]s 1 on Road above hollow toward Livermore. Mephis mephitis - ditto (both about 3 or 4 AM.) Citenmus becheri - 100+ Diroomys heermannii + Perotnomus boemani [illegible] among roads, (see above) Proomyscus moniculatus - 1 trapped. BIRDS: Turkey vulture - 6 outside hollow, 1 inside. Marsh Hawk - 1 Can. F. Quail - 2 Wialoee - 6+ Morning Dove - 8+ Red Sh'd Prichie - 1 (dead)
