C. ZIEGLER 1956 Journal May 26 M.V.Z., Barstow, San Bernardino Co., Calif. Got 20-30 bats (Myotis californicus?) from PRENTICE BLOEDEN a grad. student in MVE working on bats. These were collected, acc. to Prentice, 17 mi. SW Red Rock, Pima Co., Arizona on Jan. 30, 1956. This location is 5 mi. W of Claphin Ranch, Pima Co. Bats in deep freeze so will take them out a few at a time to prepare them. May 28 1/2 mi. W Grizzly Peak, Oatland, San Bernardino Co., Calif. Vic Lewin gave me a camp thrasher caught in quail trap near fire road on slope of Strawberry Canyon. Put up as specimen. May 29 San Pablo Ridge, Oatland, San Bernardino Co., Calif. Kamph Rait gave me a scrub jay caught in quail trap from his study area not far (1/2 mi E) of Barstow. Put up as specimen. Bird taken May 25, 1956 June 2 Strawberry Canyon, Oatland, San Bernardino Co., Calif. Hiked around fire road in evergreen woods from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Hot, clammy & clear. Saw only 1 snake-diamonds unalis under rock. Caught & released a few scarabaeus & collected lizards & caewigs for lizards at home. Got 2 large yellowish-brown skinks in woods below stream - gave these to
