All ANIMALS WHITE-BENEDTHY BUT SOME OR MANY WITH PERIDON REDDISH BAR. MUS, MICROTUS & Sorex taken also. Feb 17 1.0 mi.N 2.0 mi.E MARTINICE 100 MUS. SPEE'S TOOK 22 HERE. MUCH MORE GRASS (1 FT. HIGH + BENDING-OVER TO FORM MATS) HERE THAN IN FEB. 15-17 LOCANITY & THIS IS LOCATED ON EXTREME W EDGE OF CENTER OF MARSH. ALSO 8 MICROTUS, 6 MUS 2 Sorex. FOOT Worlings of Microtus seen here but NOT in Feb 15-17 locanity. GRIZZED HILLS BORDER THIS EDGE OF MARSH, SHORT (2-3in) GRASS + FEW SCATTERED BACHMANS BUSHERS. Some or there may be R. megnoris. Not so reddish on sides - more brownish; not so black on back; tail not so stout. Whole animal seems generally smaller than R. raviventris, some taken by CHAS. There on Feb 15-17 may be R. megnoris also.
