4 mi. E Meade Co. State Park, Meade Co, Kansas
June 17 I rode on sandy 3 ft. wide gully
floor in hilly area. Soil on slopes
sandy with rocks + sparse vegetation.
Gully floor water washed sand but dry
now with no vegetation. Dr. Quay
took 2 moce 1/2 mile away, saw no
burrow in trapped area but 1/4 mi.
away on road saw 2- 1 1/2 inch holes
showing activity + few pieces of
recently cut grass.
