(cont.)
En route to new camp W of Bend
on Creels where it intersects with
road.
Tumalo Cr., 15 mi. W Bend, 6100 ft., Deschutes Co.
In the evening set out 40 traps
along Tumalo Cr. and in a meadow
about 1/4 mile S of camp. The
area along the stream was lined
with willows in several places,
Prcea where willows were lacking,
or near the willows on the drier
soil. The ground cover was grass
and sedge almost completely with
some Ranunculus. It was not in
tufts but a more or less even, short
cover. The meadow was E of the
stream and there was a small
stream running thru it. The
ground was wet and boggy and
covered completely with low (4"-8")
grass and sedge. It was
surrounded by Prcea, Lodgepole,
and Fir forest with dead timber
abundant on the ground and some
deal logs in the meadow proper.
