Junalo Cr., Illnis. W Bend, 4700 ft., Deschutes Co. Ore.
Examined trap line at 7:00 a.m.
In the meably area had caught 2 adult Peromyscus maniculatus. In
the chaparral had caught 2 adults
of same species and 1 juvenile. Returned
to camp and went hunting in
Cercotulus chaparral from 10-12 noon.
Caught two Callospermophilus, 1 Cuta-
mias, 1 Fox Sparrow, 1 Mt. Chickadee,
Green-tailed Towlees were common
and Ruby-crowned Kreglets were
heard from the surrounding forest.
Along the stream a Pileolated
Warbler and Russet-thached Thrush
were heard. A Harter Snake was
also seen in the same habitat.
In the evening set 50 traps about
50 ft. apart in the moist dense
forest S of Junalo Creek about
200 yds. from camp.
June 24.
Examined trap line at 6:30 a.m.
and found 1 Zapus and 2 Peromyscus
maniculatus. In the afternoon I
set gopher traps. There were five
sets. 1 near camp, and the remainin
gour along the road to the E
