Wolfson 1938 June 20, (cont.) 4 mi. SW Prineville, 3300 ft., Crooks Co., Ore. was found and it was 20 yds from the colony of cliff swallows. The cliffs vary in height from 20 ft. to 100 ft. and the slope varies from absolutely 90° to 60°. Below the cliffs was a steep sloping habitat of Tunipers, Artemesia and bare sandy places. The region passed thru to reach the cliffs was similar in vegetation to the region around camp and previously described. In this habitat were seen: 3 Valley Quail; 1 Sage Sparrow; many Brewer Sparrows; 3 Red-rafted Flickers, 1 Sparrow Hawks; several Mountain Bluebirds; 2 Sage Thrashers; 1 Clipping Sparrow. Returned to camp and while at camp heard a Bullock's Oriole about 12:30 p.m. At 3:30 p.m. Paul Maslin and I went to the ridge S and W of the hills - the same region where I had previously caught a Sceloporus on yesterday. Caught 3 Sceloporus of same type again. In the evening A.H.Miller, Fred Test and myself 24.
