are numerous along the stream-
lined and in several places
are small flats of mud and
small gravel. On these flats
3 Spotted Sandpipers were observed.
Other birds seen in this
habitat were: Song Sparrows
several, 2 collected; Flicker,
1collected;
common ; Brewer Blackbird 4;
Valley Quail 1; House Wren 2,
1collected; Mountain Bluebird 2;
Red-tailed Hawks 3; Fairy Wood-
pecker, several. A Pygmy Nuthatch
was collected in the open forest
habitat before this locality was reached.
Along the road on the
way back to camp were seen
Titlurus, several; Cinemias
common. During the course of
the morning several piles of
deer droppings were seen and
tracks were numerous near the
stream-lined.
