Wolfson 1938 June 14 (cont.) 11mi. W, 1 mi. S Mitchell, 4850 ft., Wheeler Co. Oze- forest and particularly in regions where there was much fallen (logs) timber. Continuing W entered dense fir forest - similar to those previously described and found: Stellar Jays 3; Canada Jay 2; Red-breasted Nuthatch common; Mountain Chickadee common; Oregon Juncos, several; Left fir forest passed NW over several ridges and meadows and through open forest. On edge of meadow and in open forest collected Pygmy Nuthatch and 2 Harry Woodpeckers. About 2 1/2 mi. (insert) -> SW of camp reached Marho Creeks and traveled N to road leading leads to camp. Marho Creeks habitat was unlike any yet encountered. Stream is winding and on either side close-by is grass about 10 inches high. Farther away from stream ground is dry and covered with low herbaceous growth. Willows and Quaking Aspens 3 mi., 3mi. Wildcat 4700ft, CROON Wheeler Co. egon.
