Chipping Sparrows were seen here.
Left the stream region and meadow and continued westward into forest (same type as previously described.) Parts of this were [in these parts] clearly grazed and there was no ground cover. There were rocks in several places and amongst these was seen an Entanias. Continuing to the W came on to a ridge which ran N and S, and turning around to the east. Going down the E slope noticed a large stand of dense, young yellow pine - a habitat unlike any yet seen.
A pair of Turcos and slender-billed Nutatches were observed here. Continued eastward to camp, again crossing the meadow and streambed. Saw a House-wren entering a hole in a dead stump, possibly its nest.
