June 10 (Cont.) 11 mi. W, 7 mi. S Mitchell Wheeler Co., Ore. +850 ft, Concerned and were most numer- ous. I collected a Williamson lapisucker, Red-breasted Nut- cratch, and Western Tanager in a forest stand similar to that mentioned above. Seen or recognized during the morning were (not mentioned in account on June 9) Western Robin, Hermit Thrush. The other birds seen yesterday were present and as numerous. (Many other species were encountered, but were not identified. All birds listed are the only ones recognized). June 11 Started out W of camp at about 6:00 am. Followed the stream to the large meadow. The vegetation here is green in small tufts, a yellow composite, Stellaria, Lakesper,- falsc hellebore, ranging in height from several inches to 24/2 ft. It is moist near the stream and covers the ground almost completely. Along the stream, scattered, were a few Auelanchier and Elder. Several
