Oregon Elev. 4850 ft. ? entered
nesting hole, and sounds heard
from young within. Habitat
was open forest of yellow pine, and
white fir with a ground cover of
glass and other herbaceous species.
Hole was 20 ft. up in a yellow
pine 15 ft in height and 28 inches
in diameter about 4 ft. from ground
Exposure to NE. Saw her leave
nest. Flew to nearby tree (20 ft. away)
and uttered a single, high-pitched
note continually while I remained
