Wolfson 1938 July 5, court. N.Fls. Mallew R. 21 mi. S.E. Prairie City 5000 ft., Grant Co., Ore. I collected in the yellow pine forest habitat, 1 Arctic Three-toed Woodpecker, 1 Hairy Woodpecker, 1 Chipping Sparrow. In the fir forest habitat I collected 1 Brown Creeper. The birds seemed less numerous today, but there was no possible reason for this. Several Mountain Chickadees, Red-breasted Nuthatches, Audubon Warblers, Red-shafted Flickers, Chipping Sparrows and Wood Peewees were seen. In the evening bats flew over camp and 1 Silvery-haired Bat, and 1 Myotis were collected. Four Brown bats were collected by P. Jayne in a meadow not far from camp. Bats had not been as numerous on any previous night. Several others were seen also. July 6 -> N.Fls. Mallew R. 15 mi. E, 12 mi. S. Prairie City 5/00 ft. Baker Co. Left camp at 6:30 with Alden Miller and traveled North on the road about 4 miles to a large wet meadow. The meadow was surrounded on all sides by forests of fir, yellow pine and lodgepole pine. In several 40.
