Notes of explanation for Catalogue
1) It was not known until the
close of the expedition that what-
ever is written in the catalogue
should be on the specimen label.
The labels are therefore deficient
when compared with the catalogue,
but the only deficiency was in
gonad size or condition of breeding.
Information such as weight, measure-
ments etc. was always placed on
the label. Only several labels have
the breeding condition noted, but
the information is in the catalogue.
2) An arrow in the margin indicates
that a location has been inserted
and should not be overlooked.
These locations were written at
the time the specimens were collected
but due to an oversized space was
not reserved for them. I believe
they are entirely legible.
3) When a weight reads 18. g. It
should really read 18.0. g. since
all weights were taken to the
nearest tenth of a gram. The labels
on the specimens are similar to
