Holmes, R. 1960 Erolia alpina 8 July Skvoavik, Alaska Maker located a nest on the top of The Brook ridge yesterday. It contained 4 eggs. Only 1 or 2 broods were seen between the camp to Wanijan. At the wanija, an occasional I could be heard in aerial display, including The bride with the nest near the sled. This nest when checked had 2 small young + 2 eggs, which were pipping. Both adults were in abundance + both were excited. An distraction display was seen, however. A low fence was placed around the nest to retain the young for banding. The other nest further west had already hatched, so there were no sign of the adults or young. By midnight, The nest near the wanija had completely hatched + all 4 young were in the nest cups. Another brood was seen just west 1 stake 2.4. 9 June - Three of the young were in the melon this morning; these were banded and released. Both adults were present and gave the rah, rah, rah..., call.
