Holmes,R 1959 Erolia alpina 5 June 1900. - Barrel-Area behind A.R.L. Barrow, Alaska. Weather - overcast, light snow and S.E. wind. Two birds seen flying at 1400. - At 1950 3 noted flying back and forth between several patches of bare tundra. Two seemed to keep closer together, for three I would land while the third circled around 1 to several feet before landing. The three were noted sitting together several times. Once while flying one bird seemed to chase the other for 20 to 30 ft - indicating some territorial defense or aggressiveness. 6 June Barrow, Alaska Several noted in The Voth Area - SW of A.R.L.. They were in company with 2 Pectrals + were feeding in a small area of exposed tundra. One was collected. 8 June Barrow, Alaska 30-40 seen no. of Barrow Village. There was no pairing or aggressive behavior noted. The birds were flokced and feeding close together. They appear
