Erolia alpina
26.
2 July Ikravik, Alaska
pond edges, and they seem to favor
a wet marshy seale or the polygon
stops. Wing mottling seems to be a
universal activity now, as every bird
seen today was in this group. Body
molt has not been noted.
4 July - Very little activity noted on the census plot
5 July Barrow, Alaska
The brook ridge was checked from the
gas line to Wollschlag Slough. One
bird was collected part of AACs, +
one other was seen at the south
end of the ridge. No display seen
here.
6 July - Voth's Area + Slough were visited +
The ridge between Voth's Area + Fortymile
Lake was checked. Only three birds
were seen; 1 was collected. The amount
of activity has definitely slowed down,
as very few displays are now heard
+ birds are hard to find. The wing
mottling seems to be occurring rapidly,
for many of the birds now
have their "gaps" filled in or
at least partially so. Body
molt was not evident on the two
specimens collected.
