Erolia alpina
13 June Barrow, Alaska
with one wing raised. The bird was
open, & apparently a nut was gone,
but the wind was against me for hearing.
Later, a pair was seen in the chasing
display, but no definitive displays were
seen.
14 June - several pairs seen chasing near the ridge
plot, Ikravik
15 June - a pair seen going through the chase routine
where the "♂" attempted to mount the female,
but was thrown off several times. This
lasted for about 1 min. Afterwards flew
up to display. This took place along gas-
line ridge.
17 June - a nut was located just east of the
drum area about halfway between the
camp & the large pile of drums. It was
found in the morning by Warner and
contained 3 or 4 eggs. In the
evening it was destroyed by
an ATC man driving a vessel
over it! It was located
in a sparsely vegetated area.
There were a few pieces I standly
grown, but most had been
cut by the limning. It was a nut
in a moderately developed polygon.
