10 June Barrow, Alaska
attentive towards B + was "trying"
border. Occasionally when A + B
were feeding + walking, B would turn
around + run after A for no apparent
reason. After three short chases,
the path would change & it would
again follow behind B.
11 June - Two 8's seen along the beach ridge.
One was near the magnetic station where
it displayed & then landed on the ridge.
It later flew off towards Central
Marsh. The second was seen displaying
in the white snow sector of the ridge.
12 June - Several pairs were seen along the
west shore of Ikroavik and in VORL
Area.
13 June - Two pairs seen along the beach
ridge between the magnetic station
& the gas line. No territorial encounter
were seen; there was very little activity.
In the afternoon in Britton's activities were
more active. One 8 was mounted by a 8
who stood on her back for about 25 sec.
Copulation did not take place. At 10
and 1 this time interval, the 8 readily
and walked off feeding. The 8
