Holmes, R. 1960 Erolla alpina 6. 6 June Barrow, Alaska where considerable ridge top was exposed. East / The gas well, seven pairs were again noted, and 2 were collected. The & None had an ovum of 9 mm. The bird had an ovum size of 5mm. 7 June Barrow, Alaska. Several pairs seen during the morning near Wohl. Slough. Bird activity was rather quiet, however, due to the strong NE wind. In the evening, a group three birds was seen; 1 pair collected. These three were feeding together with no aggressive action. The two other birds were believed to be 99. Another pair was seen feeding just south of Wohl. Slough, and within 30 feet of them, a second pair was busily feeding. If either of these birds had been settled, then would surely have been a territorial encounter. Later they fled closer to seek with with no effect. 6 June Barrow, Alaska Numerous pairs were noted in the ridge N & E of Ikravik. Several were seen along the west side.
