Holmes, R. 1960 Erolia alpria 25 may Barrow, Alaska I see by Maker near Uth's Area. 29 may Barrow, Alaska One seen r collied (8-14x8mm testa) just west 1 footprint Lake on a bare ridge. Two more seen seen by Dave Mallin just NE of airship. 31 may Barrow, Alaska Two were seen together this morning north shore Elsa Logon, just south of Wohl- schlag slough. Both were feeding when they were first noticed; they quickly however flew towards the north. In the evening, one was heard, from the beak, displaying near drum area. Also near Elsa Logon again South A Wohl Slough, one was heard to be displaying, while at least 1 other pair were seen. The bird was heard to do no aerial display 3 times before returning to ground to feed. All this time, two birds (a pair?) were feeding right beneath humans and penguins no attention to the displaying bird. One of the birds on the ground lifted his head to save the tree, where we
