19 August Barrow, Alaska
Several birds were collected.
Numerous individuals (both Adl. +
John.) were noted along the
road to the lake and on the
northern half of the lake.
21 August Barrow, Alaska
The southern Happy Footpoint Lake
was again most heavily populated
with birds of this species. They
were feeding in one large
group, composed of about 300 birds
again. This is the only place where
such numbers have been observed.
Out a the tundra, among the ponds,
etc., due probots to the amount of
available mud (constituting a charge
in diet?). The loud "series" is
quite diagnostic and aids
in identification over the flesh
for which has been present for
several days.
