Holmes,R 1963 Calidris alpina 19 July Barns, Alaska First bird seen today - all the county covered (b.r.-yukon river south to Voth Slope t. the west). - One adult collected. The other birder even also an adult - in young. 20 July 1 Adl see in footput lake. - Both nests in Shroud census plot even intact - both adults were at a new nest site - 2 were seen no 23.4 again - but not not found. One chick head - in Mrs. Behr's. Chick 21 July 1 chick caught i by - yule ridge. Flot#3 See a the brood ridge near Mr. census plot: 299 were collected. 1st another group 1 Mrs. was seen at the east slope / the ridge - 14 was collected. All three birds appeared to be gull. 22 July One adult & +3 just flying chicks collected near North Meadow Lake - in wet marshy habitat. Several on Nroves, 112, 101+ another 11 - even located south / Woltschlag Slope. Then three more 1 young chick - 2.5 days old (see catalog). - The brood counts above are based on the #1 your seen - So they may not be accurate.
