30 June Barrow, Alaska
Nest with 4 eggs inc. ? - on flat grass,
Sedge pftins - Bird south VOR circle,
Birds East / Orwell road. - In tall
grass where one egg - 80% protube.
The ? did not give duck. Slightly
suprflue off nest - flew -
loved hill (while at mirigo) to
landed - 6' away. The birds were
stocky bird and having slightly
stubby bill with yellow white
beak shaped V-shaped wings.
They best encountered in the
evening - west of meadow lake -
collected.
21 June Nest 49 - 8' W. (cabbage road [just so])
Trapezine 3A - with 4 eggs & inc. bird.
Nest - tall sedge - small mounds - eggs
Some 70% covered by overhanging vegetation
(Nest #10 - a plot (new 3.3) - 89 vic. -
jumped off nest & flew in the long "bump";
flight W. of pond 4 pm - Picked up
proton, numbered - stuffed parts -
Jerry De Wanasse hyp. protein
speed notes. - 4 eggs with 403
Cave - a small polygon, caves
with moss & grass nearby -
Cry was heard with Mock quail-like
